Global warming may be twice as bad as previously expected

Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are predicting that the climate will warm much more than previously thought. In their last project (2003) they predicted a probable rise by 2091/2100 of 2.4 degrees Centigrade (median surface warming). Their latest model projects a rise of 5.2 degrees centigrade, more than double.

Reasons for this change in the predicted rise in global temperature apparently include a more sophisticated computer model and the different probabilities of different scenarios. Read their research by clicking on the link below.
